Matterport 3D Camera Technology – Why it Matters, and Why It Makes Us Different!

Since 1954, McMahon Services has been the “preferred contractor” for many Lake County Illinois insurance leaders, and our new technology puts us a step above the rest!

Matterport, the industry leader in 3D camera capture technology, recently released Matterport Cloud 3.0, and McMahon Services is now adding this service into our restoration cases.

3D Camera Use in Restoration: What to Expect

When your home experiences fire or water damage the team at McMahon is ready to respond quickly. In emergency situations, we are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and will arrive at your home to assess the damage quickly and professionally.

During our inspection, we will take different pictures of the affected area and, using the Matterport AI powered image-processing technology, we take these regular 2D pictures and transform them into a 3D, 365-degree model of your home!

The Matterport technology is a game changer for restoration companies. We now have the ability to provide insurance companies, and homeowners, a full walkthrough of the area of their home that requires reconstruction!

Instead of relying strictly on flat images, these digital walkthroughs will give insurance companies a better understanding of the damage caused to the home. This alleviates the need for multiple inspections and visits before the insurance claim is approved and makes the claim specialist job easier!

For the homeowner, you receive a full walkthrough of the area as well and can keep the footage in your personal files in the event of future insurance questions.

How it Helps Us with Your Home Reconstruction

During our initial evaluation of your home it is our mission to discover exactly what the scope is of the restoration project in its entirety. This helps us with all aspects of our job from working with insurance companies to files claims, all the way to deciding what materials we need to order to complete the job.

Without the Matterport technology, we rely on flat images. These provide enough detail in most cases, but in some instances, our teams may want to review the space again – and are not near the site, or it isn’t convenient to visit.

With the new 3D/365-degree images, we can effectively walk through the construction space and share the area with any other individuals that may need to visit as well!

This technology gives McMahon Services the tools necessary to provide the highest level of service to all of our customers. If you experience property loss due to fire, sewage or flooding, or any other disaster, contact us right away.
